Marijuana Garden
Big Basin State Park

8150 pounds of garbage was collected this weekend.

We had to fill in the holes and irrigation ditches.

Each of these holes had a marijuana plant in it.  These had to be filled in and covered with brush to prevent erosion.

The upper sections of the garden were incredibly difficult to reach.  Going up this slope was done on your hands and knees. Coming down; on your a**.

The irrigation ditches had to be filled in with natural debris to allow rainfall to percolate through the soil rather than runoff the surface creating even more erosion.

Credits go out to:
Kent Wingfield a Geomorphologist & Matt Weld a Civil Engineer specializing in stream restoration with the firm of Swanson Hydrology and  Geomorphology in Santa Cruz. Thanks for volunteering your time and knowledge guys!
