Edison Lake
(July 8- 17, 2005)

This was our first 10-day trip, with three backcountry crews and folks who stayed in camp the full 10 days. Virtually every trail in the Edison, Florence and Mono Creek areas was improved. Over 300 trees were removed from trails, 50 waterbars repaired or installed, and maintenance on Forest Service facilities was performed. Additionally, we did maintenance on bear boxes in Florence, Edison and Sample Meadow, and installed trailhead signs on about 10 trailheads. A most productive trip.

The group shot.

No trip of this magnitude would be complete without shots of the beautiful mountains.

The mosquitoes were "...of biblical proportions..." in the backcountry due to the increase in standing water later in the year caused by the larger snowpack this year.

...and one more for good luck.

This was not a scene from the trip, but if you hang around in the Sierra long enough you will see this kind of scenery. Shot on Thursday, July 28, from Kaiser Pass Road just below Kaiser Pass, looking toward Edison Lake.
