Explanation of our photography and videography efforts

So that we may continue to make the HSVTC a free outing, we spend a considerable amount of time in the off-season lobbying for operating funds. We send videos and photographs to corporations, charitable foundations. In an effort to try to explain to the various entities what we do, and to instill full understanding of the breadth of our financial needs we send out lots of videos and photos. The photos on the website are an integral part of that effort as are the videos of our trail work.

What this means to you is that we will be taking lots of pictures and videos during your stay. We will be photographing and videoing the trail work activity as well as the leisure activates. We hope that you understand that if we take your picture eating, or sitting by the fire or some other relaxing activity, we're not trying to infringe upon your privacy or being rude. We are attempting to capture the atmosphere of The High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew and as a volunteer, you are the trail crew. We will identify you (if you don't mind) on the web site and give you "Special Thanks" notations on the videos. We will do our best to portray you in the best possible light, and in the most complimentary manner and descriptions. I may ask you some questions while videoing you, so if you feel comfortable doing so, please just give me your genuine opinion, or whatever. Feel free to clown around or be silly, especially the kids, but we would truly appreciate your participation in our videos and photographs. You will see me walking through the crowd during meals with a video camera or a digital camera. I will more than likely video you or photograph you at some point eating, or starting to eat. Try not to feel self-conscious as I would not be shooting you if I did not feel you looked great and added to the production. We hope you do not mind this worthy effort, but if you really, really do not want your picture taken (you may be wanted in three states), just hold up your hand as if a traffic cop, and I will not bother you again unless you tell me it's ok. Also, we want to document the role of children in our organization, but again, if you would rather we did not photograph your children, we will comply.

If you have a question please contact Shane Krogen.

Thank You!
